1984
Contal Travel opens doors in Brisbane and Sydney.
1995
Contal Information Technology Pty Ltd is established. Contal works across ISP, BTP, fibre-optic networking and legal practice management.
2000
Contal begins to work on search-and-book travel software that will eventually drive contaltravel.com.au and other brands.
2002
Now based in Brisbane, Contal’s Altitude offers the world’s first single-screen comparison and booking of Australian flights, hotels and car hire products.
2003
We are the first organisation in the world to demo WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) technology to achieve flight bookings on mobile phones.
2004
Our travel software, Altitude, is acquired by a well-known travel company.
2008
Business management software development begins.
2009
Contal launches Speedy Travel and releases iSpeedy app for all major phone platforms.
2009
We inherit live music venue, X & Y Bar, in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
2013
Elixir Rooftop Bar opens – Brisbane’s first upmarket rooftop cocktail bar.
2015
Contal establishes partnership with multicultural aged care organisation, All Aged Care, as technical advisors and developers for organisation-wide digital transformation project.
2020
Contal Training Services Pty Ltd is established.
2023
Contal Properties submits plans for development of high-end hotel in Brisbane city.
